Suzuki GB has announced a limited edition GSX-R750, only 25 units of which will be made available and orders for which will only be accepted online. This special edition GSX-R features a paintjob that’s based on the 1996 GSX-R750, a Yoshimura exhaust and an individually numbered commemorative top yoke plaque and certificate. ‘This is set to become one of the most sought-after GSX-R’s ever produced,’ claims a Suzuki GB spokesperson. While we’re not too sure about that, those who may be interested in buying one can get more details on the official website here
In the meanwhile, there’s more action happening at Suzuki GB, who recently donated a special, one-off GSX-R to charity. This GSX-R1000 was originally built for Kevin Schwantz and be auctioned for charity later this month. Those interested in the auction can send an email to Kelly Neal on kelly.neal@ben.org.uk

LONDON (August 12th, 2009) – Sports Interactive & SEGA® Europe Ltd. can today announce that Football Manager™ 2010 for PC and Apple Macintosh, and Football Manager™ Handheld 2010 for Sony PSP will be released on October 30th.
Football Manager 2009 is the most successful in the Football Manager series to date, clocking up 22 weeks at No.1 in the UK (PC charts) and selling in excess of 1 million copies worldwide, as well as being voted the 2nd best video game of all time in a recent Radio 1 poll.
According to data gathered from Football Manager 2009, people played the game for an average of 240 hours each and developer Sports Interactive has spent the last year working closely with consumers and the Football Manager community to implement key improvements to this year’s game. Football Manager 2010 features new tools and changes across the board including some big additions to improve ease of use, navigation and feedback from the game with the introduction of a brand new match tactics system, the debut of a Match Analysis tool, a completely new look and new User Interface among other features.
“We have worked very hard with the Football Manager community to target not only the areas of the game that needed re-working but also what we could add to improve what’s already there. We’ve also conducted extensive usability studies which has led us to overhaul the whole presentation of the game, which we’re really excited about,” said Miles Jacobson, Studio Director at Sports Interactive. “There has been a lot of polish to existing areas of the game but it’s also driven us to introduce changes to answer some of the feedback. We’re very confident that having done that we will deliver the very best Football Manager to date in October.”
The introduction of a Tactics Creator makes it easier to instruct the team to play the way the manager wants, alongside the introduction of touchline ‘shouts’ and quick tactic changes for instantly altering your team’s playing style during the match. Working with coaches from various levels of football, alongside some of the Football Manager communities most respected independent tacticians, the game now has an extensive array of pre-set tactical options allowing the user to select a player’s role in the team (such as ‘Ball winning midfielder’ or ‘Deep lying playmaker’), however the option to use the old ‘slider’ controls remains.
Feedback from matches has been improved to give the user better insight into where their team is going wrong, or right. A new Match Analysis tool lets players see where shots, passes, crosses, headers, tackles, fouls and interceptions have been made on the field for all players on the pitch. Managers can view this analysis both live in-game and post match, allowing them to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of both their team and their opponent’s and adjust their tactics accordingly.
Football Manager 2010 features a brand new User Interface, with a light and a dark skin to choose from as part of a vibrant new look and has undergone a complete navigational overhaul. The side bar navigation of previous years has been replaced by an intuitive tab system at the top of the screen, making Football Manager’s famed depth easier to navigate and will make the game more accessible to new players.
A brand new Data Editor will allow the addition of new divisions to existing leagues and of entirely new leagues as well as making it easier than ever to keep the game up to date, and do so for free. The delivery of information to the manager has been refined with users now able to sign up to the News Centre, an in-game subscription based newspaper that lets you get the news that you want about the football world and filter out the stories that you do not need, making the football world as immersive as you want it to be.
Following the debut of a 3D match view in Football Manager 2009, this year’s release sees a revamp with improved AI, over 100 new animations for the 3D pitch view, new stadiums, crowds, realistic pitch degradation and better lighting, creating an even more realistic match experience.
Further new features will be announced via a series of blogs in the months leading up to the game’s October 30th release date which will ensure that Football Manager retains its position as the most realistic, most played, highest reviewed and best selling football management simulation in the world.

For those who think a Rossi-rep R1 might be too common, CMC, a Yamaha dealer in the UK, has readied a Ben Spies replica R1. The bike is painted in Ben’s World Superbikes colours and the exhaust system gets Akrapovic carbon end cans. The bike costs £12,499 OTR.
Spies and Rossi replica R1s are all fine but what we’d really love to see from Yamaha is a series of limited-edition 1980s specials – Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey replica Yamaha R1s. Now that would be something!

Yamaha have announced the 2010 YZF-R6 and, well, apart from new colours the bike seems to the same as the 2009 model. Yamaha claim the R6’s ECU has been remapped and the exhaust system has been redesigned, for a bit more torque at lower revs and improved mid-range power delivery.
The other ‘new’ bike announced for 2010 is the European-spec XJ6 Diversion F, which comes with a new fairing for improved aerodynamics and weather protection. The bike is available in blue and black, ABS is optional.
The 2010 Yamaha FZ1 and FZ1 Fazer also get revised ECU mapping for more consistent low- and mid-range power delivery.
And finally, there’s the 2010 Yamaha TMax, which is now in its 10th year of production and is now available in white, with a two-tone seat and titanium-polished wheels.
Yamaha say they understand if you aren’t thrilled to bits with their 2010 bikes. No, well, they don’t. But we do wish their ‘new’ bikes were a bit more exciting…

We love fast motorcycles more than airplanes, no question about that. For most journeys, if we could, we’d rather ride a Ducati 1198Sthan sit in the first class section of the latest Boeing passenger aircraft. Even the best of food, drink and smiling, pampering airhostesses aren’t really enough to outweigh the sheer adrenaline rush of riding a 180 horsepower motorcycle at full chat…
But there is indeed one aircraft that we lust after – the mighty SR-71 Blackbird – which makes even MotoGP bikes look as dull as 50cc Chinese-built mopeds. Designed by Clarence ‘Kelly’ Johnson and his team, the SR-71 was built by Lockheed Skunk Works, first flew in 1964 and was finally retired in 1998. Only 32 were ever built, of which about 20 are still supposed to exist in aviation museums, NASA research centres and the like.
So why is the SR-71 so special? Hmmm… built for ‘strategic reconnaissance’ (hence the ‘SR’ in its name), this US military aircraft was fitted with twin Pratt & Whitney J58-P4 turbojet/ramjet engines, which together produced 65,000 pounds of thrust. While we can’t quote the equivalent horsepower figure (to find out why, see here), the thrust was enough to allow the Blackbird to accelerate away from most missiles. Yes, standard evasive action for SR-71 pilots, if they ever detected a missile coming towards the plane, was simply to accelerateaway!

With its airframe made of lightweight titanium (imported from the erstwhile USSR), the SR-71 weighed 77,000 kilos fully loaded. With two people on board, the plane could climb at an astounding rate of 11,800 feet per minute and fly at heights of as much as 26km above the earth’s surface. Top speed was more than 3,500km/h, which is more than three times the speed of sound (Mach 3.2+). The Blackbird could fly for 5,400km before needing to be refueled.
For those who might be interested, you can read more about the late, great SR-71 here. In the meanwhile, we’ll move on to the Ducati Desmosedici GP9 MotoGP machine, which is about as powerful, fast and exotic as a motorcycle – any motorcycle – can get. And for most ordinary mortals, the GP9 is also almost as inaccessible as the mighty SR-71. You can look, but you can’t touch…
Ducati returned to MotoGP in 2003, after an absence of around three decades, and the Italian company won the 2007 MotoGP world championship with Aussie rider Casey Stoner. Beating the might of the Japanese factories couldn’t have been a mean task, but the Ducati Desmosedici GP7 machine proved they could do it.
The latest GP9, which weighs 148 kilos, is fitted with a 799cc four-stroke liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC V4 that produces about 230 horsepower – enough to catapult the bike from zero to 100km/h in less than 2.5 seconds and on to a top speed of around 350km/h. The bike’s chassis is made of carbonfibre (rather than Ducati’s traditional steel tube trellis frame), the gearbox is a six-speed unit and Öhlins suspension is used at both ends.

The Ducati GP9 is fitted with twin 320mm carbon brake discs at the front that provide immense stopping power. Also, the bike is fitted with advanced electronics (details of which are not available) that provide traction control functions that can be fine-tuned and controlled by the rider. And though we don’t know that for sure, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Ducati’s on-board computer is a hundred times more powerful than the analog computers that controlled the 1960s SR-71 Blackbird!
So which machine do you think is more impressive – the Ducati GP9 that can do 350km/h, or the SR-71, which could fly at 10 times that speed? For us, it would have to be the SR-71, and that’s because of what its designers managed to do with the technology available in the 1960s. To design and build a plane that could fly as fast as the SR-71 did, without using computers, processing power or CAD software (as we know those things today), has to be an unmatched miracle of engineering.
However, for accessible performance, motorcycles remain the best bet. For an almost-reasonable sum of money, street legal bikes like the Ducati 1198S (or, for that matter, the Desmosedici RR, MV Agusta F4 CC or the 2010 Yamaha R1) can at least provide a glimpse of the kind of performance a MotoGP bike is capable of. But completely regardless of how much money you might have, there is simply no way you can experience an SR-71’s performance. So when it comes to choosing between taking a bike or flying, we’d still take the 1198S…

No Indication – ECO – PWR – No Indication).
Gimana? Penasaran untuk mencoba?
